Going to the beach!!!

Oh wait...NOPE....I'M going to work. Needless to say, I'm not happy about this. It is an absolutely gorgeous day!!! And while I'm slaving away today, SOME people (you know who you are) get to bask in the sunshine and spend the day at the beach. *sigh* I guess I'll have to wait for the weekend. :(
Since I can't be at the beach, I decided to put together a beach inspired look. I grabbed this sunshiny top, paired it with this super cute stretch denim skirt and threw on some seashell earrings. As much as I'd rather be in a bikini laying on the sand, I'm still happy with what I came up with. :)

What a difference accessories make...

I admit it. I woke up...once again..without an outfit planned. UGH!!! Why do I procrastinate?? Am I a glutton for punishment? Either way...I had limited time to decide on an ensemble. I have learned that the place to start is with one piece- one piece that inspires you. For me-today-it was this amazing yellow necklace that I got from Savers. It had no price tag on it. I walked it up to the counter and asked the gentleman how much it was. He said, "Do you really like it?" I looked it him intrigued and said, "It depends on how much it is." He obliged and said "A dollar?" Yeah...I was sold. With such a bold statement of a necklace, I decided to go a bit subdued with the rest of my outfit.
Oh..and the reason why my post is so late is because I had a dead camera battery this morning. :( The bright side about waiting till AFTER work is that I was able to take my time with pics. I THINK I'm getting better?????

Ready for a Remix!

I decided to remix the dress I wore on my first day of starting on this fashion journey. (Seen here ) I laid awake last night not able to sleep. I got so little sleep... I didn't go to the gym this morning and I didn't have an outfit picked out. I grabbed this dress and started working quickly. I decided to pair it with jeans. The dress was a little too long for jeans, so I was able to roll it up at the waist band to make it shorter. A cardigan and a few accessories later... Voila! A new outfit!
(My photo editor decided to stop working after a couple pictures. Oh well..the show must go on!)

Hello 80's...oh, how I've missed you!

I am just as excited today about 80's fashion as I was when I was 9 years old.
(Check out the hot number to your left.)
The 80's have come back in style and I couldn't be happier. That's why, when I saw this coral pleated skirt at Savers, I knew I had to have it. :)

I am DEFINITELY going to be keeping my eyes peeled for more 80's pieces. I can't wait!

Weekend Wedding Bells

I was fortunate enough to be a guest at my friends Cindy and Will's wedding over the weekend. And to add to the excitement, they were getting married at the Disneyland Hotel! Anyone who knows me, knows I love Disneyland, so I knew I wanted to be extra colorful for this special occasion.
I found this Arden B. dress at Savers a while ago. The "old" me would have worn it by itself with a pair of heels. Cute? Yes. Boring? Definitely. The "new" me had something else in mind. :)
We had SUCH a great time! It was a beautiful wedding and an even MORE beautiful bride. Congratulations to you both. I love you!

A little patience paid off...

It's been a LONG day waiting for the moment when I can finally take pictures of my outfit for my blog. Since I had all the time in the world after work, I decided to play around with my new tripod. I had a lot of fun, but I still have a lot to learn. I was really excited about today's look because I am ALL about this blazer I found at my most recent Savers trip. I looove the color! Whenever I see a bold color like this, I always grab it. Bright, bold colors are totally in this season and I couldn't be happier. :)
Have a great weekend, everyone!
