Visitor notice!

What's adorable at my new job is this alarming email titled
"Visitor Notice!".
It basically means some sort of client is visiting the office. Therefore, everyone needs to not dress like a slob.
Really...the only rule is to basically not wear jeans.
Seems simple enough...but people freak out about this.
"Whaaaat???? Visitorrrrrsssss????
UGH...I HATE dress up days!"
Ironically, I think this is my sloppiest outfit this week.
I slept in a bit and went with what's comfy. But....do you hear me complaining about Visitor Day???
Nope!
Come on peeps....throw on some non-jeans and call it a day!
I think I'll keep my little rant to myself until I make more friends at work. ;)

Hello, new job...say hello to my blog!

Sorry it's been a few days. I've been getting settled in at my new job. I started out with a couple non-blogworthy outfits to kick off the week. Today I remixed one of my favorite summer dresses and transformed it for Fall. I did get a few strange looks.
LOL! They haven't seen anything yet.
Remember this post? Today, I just added a button up shirt underneath and some tights. Voila! A cute new look!
I really miss the kids at the preschool. I really do.
But on the bright side, I also really like my new job so far! And best of all...I'm off at 5 every day! It's SO nice to finally work ONE job!
Ok, time to figure out what I'm wearing tomorrow and then I'm off to bed.
I hope you're all having a great week!

Miss Dawnya

Friday was my last day working at the preschool and I have to say...it was extremely difficult and emotional. I have truly loved this job and I feel I have grown so much as a person. I love all the wonderful women I've had the pleasure of working with the past year and a half....and most of all...I adore each and every one of the precious kiddos that I've had the joy of getting to know.
I decided to do a little blog post of some pieces of my last day, as well as some favorite spots on campus.

First....some of my favorite "artwork":

Moments from my last week of school:

I feel SO loved and so blessed to have been part of such a wonderful place. I left my last day of work a crying mess. I decided to walk around and take pictures of a few spots on campus that are special to me.
These flowers grow wild near the playground and I absolutely love them!

I walk past this pond every single morning on the way to school.

A beautiful tiled mural.

A Bible verse that hangs in one of the chapels. It's one that has meant a lot to me.

I know that leaving the preschool was the right decision for me and I am excited about my new job and all that awaits me. But, the school will always have a special place in my heart and I will always consider them family. I love you guys!
Miss Dawnya will try to visit as soon as she can! :)

P.S. This little angel almost made me change my mind!!!!

I Heart Thrifted Polka Dots

Today is my last day working TWO jobs! I'm so excited!
Unfortunately, I left my camera elsewhere, so I had to use my phone to take my very limited pics today.
But...you get the idea.
I found this mermaid-style skirt at a thrift store in Las Vegas last weekend. It was $2!!! Can you believe it? I always gravitate toward polka dots, so I was very excited when I was able to squeeze into this adorable find.
As excited as I am about my last day working 8am-9pm, I'm SO sad that tomorrow is my last day at the preschool. But, it's for the best and I have to remember that.
Have a great Thursday!

Stopping Traffic

Yeah, I'm a traffic light today. Green, yellow and red.
It was one of those mornings where I threw an outfit together and ran out. Do I like it? I don' t know...kinda. Maybe I should also mention that I left my curling iron in Las Vegas so I've been using my hot rollers. This wouldn't be so bad except that I feel like I resemble a 1980's news anchor with my hair AND huge shoulder pads.
Oh well...can't win 'em all!

I'll make more time for my hair AND my outfit tomorrow!
I promise! :)

Downtown Girls

Growing up in Las Vegas, we used to steer clear of the downtown area. It was dirty and scary. These days, while it still has it's fair share of grime, it has become a pretty cool hangout spot.
From the wacky street performers to the swanky bars and lounges that line the streets...there seems to be no shortage of things to see.
Shana, Edwina and I decided to throw on some of our thrifted pieces and hit up Fremont Street. Edwina, aka Photographer Extraordinaire, shot my photos. We had a lot of fun!
Shoes: Thrifted ($7.50)

It was a great night with a whole lotta nonsense! I love you girls!

And to kick off your Tuesday right....
it wouldn't be Vegas without an awesome cover band!!!!!

Thrifting Las Vegas

Oh BOY I had fun in Las Vegas over the weekend! This is just a taste of what I found! I have a lot more pictures of my finds, as well as an outfit photo shoot in Downtown Las Vegas. But...for now...I'm just going to talk about shoes. Lucky for me, no one in our group has the same size feet and I happened to find five pairs that fit me! Correction....Shana, Edwina and Michelle found shoes that did NOT fit them, so I tried them on.....and..... hooray!
NEW SHOES FOR DAWNYA!
Today starts my last week at the preschool. I'm sad, but excited about my new job. :) I just hope I can keep my crying to a minimum this week. I'll miss my kiddos!
Have a great week!
