When Life Gives You Lemons, Make a Gift Basket...

I don't know about you, but I like my gifts to be a certain theme. Although I'm on a budget, I knew I had to come up with somethin' cute for my friends Cindy and Will's wedding shower. I took a look at the registry and these are the things I decided to work with.
This is a two-tiered serving piece. I love anything that can be used for a dinner party so I was on board with this gift.

They also registered for a lime squeezer and a lemon squeezer. Not sure how often they will actually use these...but it's not MY registry. ;)

So now I'm thinking...how can I make this all blend???

Ding ding ding!!!!

Here is what I came up with:
 Hope they like it!!!

All Wrapped Up in College!

Anyone who knows me knows that I looooved college! I made so many friends and participated in so many events. One of the best things about sorority and fraternity events are the t-shirts! I really like free t-shirts...a lot....too much maybe. But really, besides bedtime, when you do you wear event t-shirts once the event is over??? The answer is nowhere. This is why I made a t-shirt quilt! Okay..I know I am not the first person to make a t-shirt quilt, but it's MY blog and I love my quilt! :) Here are some pics of my FAVORITE blanket!
Sleep tight!!!

Pretty in Pink

2010 was a really, really, REALLY rough year for me. And although I have nothing but excitement for all that awaits me in 2011, it got off to a rocky start when my Grandpa passed away last week. Why am I bringing this up? I'm bringing this up because my friend Shana has been such a huge support throughout all of it. She never gets sick of listening to me and always has something uplifting to say. Even if she doesn't have a solution, she at least has a joke to make me laugh. I love her to death and wanted to do a little somethin' for her. I made these earrings for her. It was my first attempt at making earrings. My friend Jenny (who WILL be starting up an Etsy site to sell her AMAZING jewelry and I WILL be blogging about it) showed me how to make a simple set of earrings. I picked out my beads and worked with tiny pliers to come up with this cute pair. One thing is for sure. Making earrings is a lot harder than it looks. Just sayin'.
Anyway, I wrapped them in blue paper, affixed a cute sticker, wrote a sweet message in a card and gave it to her on a "Sister Night". She loved it and I'm glad, because it's the LEAST I can do.
My Grandpa is at peace and 2010 is behind me. I know 2011 will be awesome because I have awesome people in my life- like Shana. :)
